Princess Festival

On Saturday, Chad and I got to take Karli on a little outing all by herself.
We went to the Christmas Princess Festival at Provo Town Center Mall.

I must say, I'm not usually into the whole princess scene, but Karli definitely is.
Our princess dress-ups, crowns, and shoes are heavily used at our house.
I wasn't too sure about this whole Christmas Princess Festival thing, but it turned out to be fun!

Karli picked to wear this princess dress that her Great Grandma Otteson made for her. She looked beautiful and got lots of compliments! Her friend Kylee dressed up as the cutest Cinderella ever! But, we missed Lucy!

The evening started with having the kids make snowflakes.
Then, a REAL princess entertained them while we waited for the show. They played ring-around-the-rosie and sang "Merry Christmas" to the passers by at the mall. Too cute!
When the show started, the girls didn't quite know what to think. There was some singing, and dancing, and explaining. I'm not sure how much sunk in.
Karli couldn't stand to be away from the princess for very long. She kept trying to scoot closer and closer to her. And she tried to hold her hand every chance she got.
During the show, the kids answered questions and played games with the elves. Karli was introduced to "Simon Says" which made an appearance later in the evening...
The cast did a good job and they were so cute with the kids. Bless their hearts. I could never do anything like this! Drama just wasn't my scene I guess.
After the show, we even got to go see Santa!
Karli told him what she wanted for Christmas, and asked if he would find her in Singapore.
He said he would!
She was a little too scared to sit on his lap, so we just chatted with him for a second and then he gave her a coloring book! I'm pretty sure he was the REAL Santa. He was nice, jolly, and his beard was real. Definitely the Real Deal.
To wind up our date, we went to Wingers for dinner.
Karli was LOVING having both of our attention! While we were eating, she made us play the new game she learned, "Simon Says."
"Simon says take a bite."
"Simon says take a drink."
"Simon didn't say eat a fry!!! Hahaha!"

What a fun night out with Princess Karli!
