Disneyland - Day 2

Thursday, December 29th

Before we head to Disneyland again, let me mention how awesome the breakfasts at the Marriott were. Pretty much AMAZING! They had all kinds of American breakfast foods as well as Asian breakfast foods...just in case you were needing dim sum at 8 AM.
One of our favorite things about breakfast was the pancake bar. They had a nifty machine that makes perfectly round pancakes and then you could top them with like 30 different things. Michelle and I enjoyed the "Hong Kong Style Pancake" which is a warm pancake drizzled with sweetened condensed milk, and topped with toasted almonds. Turns out...it was DELICIOUS!
Spending some time with Grandpa before Big Day #2!
In the cab, on the way to Disneyland.
Wait a second, what's that on the dashboard??
Just about a million cell phones! I'm still not sure why so many of the taxi drivers had multiple phones. I think it was for gaming purposes. Just plain strange...and dangerous.

Here We Go, One More Time, Everybody's Feelin' Fine:
Forgot to take this classic shot yesterday!
We arrived just in time to catch a little bit of the parade.
You know Karli LOVES a parade!
The visor also made its way back to Disneyland.
Here's Grandpa modeling it:
Then we got to go meet Micky & Minnie!
Ash wasn't sure what to think about these gigantic mice, but they sure loved her!
After spending some quality time with Micky & Minnie, we headed off to the rides!
Not as many pictures! Same old, same old!
We rode the teacups again, busted through It's a Small World, and used fast passes for Space Mountain and Winnie the Pooh.

At that point, we were pretty exhausted so we paused for a lunch break.
Yesterday's questionable hot dog lunch was slightly un-blogworthy.
But Michelle had a great idea for lunch on our second day!
Micky Waffles!
The girls all ordered waffles and pretty much ate every last bite.

Landon ordered some fried chicken and fries. How southern of him.
And, yes!
His meal DID come with a complimentary pair of plastic gloves which he absolutely put to use. If someone gives you gloves with your meal, you wear them. No questions asked.
Ashley has teeth and she's not afraid to use them:

After a yummy lunch, the wiggle monsters found somewhere to wiggle:

It was pretty late in the afternoon so we headed back to Main Street to watch the parade one more time. While we staked out some good seats, the kids entertained themselves with some imaginative play.

Here is a picture:
I'm not sure where the origins of this game started, but I think it started way back in Singapore at the American Club while we were decorating gingerbread houses. Basically, one person all of a sudden shouts, "I'm dead!" and drops to the ground. The others rush to their side and usually drag that person to another location to be "looked at." Then, the person is healed and hugs are given:
This game continued to pop up when we least expected it throughout the entire trip.
It didn't last too long at Disneyland because people were starting to stare.

Walking to see that parade:
Ashley got to watch the parade with Grandpa.
She even got some special attention from Jesse.
It was fun to see the kids get so much attention at the parade. Most of the characters stopped and came over to them or gave them a special little wave. I guess we kind of stuck out :)
S-P-O-I-L-E-D!
Check out the new loot!
We had a blast at Disneyland! So memorable! Thank you Grandma & Grandpa!!
