Friday Night, December 23rd
We had been wanting to go on a Singapore City Holiday Lights tour in an open bus for the whole week, but we kept getting rained out. You can still go on the tour, but you have to ride inside the bus...sad story. I really wanted to ride in the open top bus.
We bought tickets for Friday night at 6PM, and around 4:30 PM there was an all-out torrential rain storm, so I thought for sure it would be a bust.
Around 5:45 the rain started to let up, and by the time we got on the bus, the rain had stopped all together. Hallelujah!!!
We saw some AWESOME holiday lights. Especially going down Orchard Street.
It was great to be in the open top bus because we were used to being underground in the MRT or a in a taxi when going from place to place. Seeing it all above ground made so much more sense to me!

Karli insisted that we were on a float in some sort of parade, so she spend 90% of the time waving at the people below. Lots of people waved back. Probably because she's so darn cute.
Love these two crazies!
After the tour ended, MOST of us went back home.
Sydney, Karli, Chad and I really wanted to go on the Singapore Flyer, which is like the London Eye. So, we headed over to get tickets after the tour.
We had a great time on the Flyer and didn't have to wait too long. It was a nice, clear evening and we could see all of the sights! We were trapped in the Flyer Car with a bunch of people from England. We couldn't stop eavesdropping on their conversations because their accents were so awesome. I swear, if I had a British accent, I would be so much cooler!

When we bought our tickets, they gave the girls these little activity packets. Thank goodness! They kept them busy and whine-free the entire time!
Amazing view of downtown Singapore:

After the Flyer, the girls found a bunch of these cut-outs and insisted on taking pictures in EVERY SINGLE one of them. Keep in mind, it's about 9:30PM by now. They were pretty cute though!
By the time we got home, we were all pretty worn out!
