Ashley at One

I can't believe it has been a year since we first met Ashley. What a difference a year makes!
Is it just me, or does she get smilier by the minute?

Ashley, at One, looks a little something like this:
22 pounds 6 ounces (85%)
31 inches (100%)
Super Smiley

Ashley, at One, sounds a little something like this:
"Mamamama"
"Ha Dad"
"Eh, eh, eh, eh..."
Grunting
Giggling

Ashley, at One, feels a little something like this:
Soft
Squishy
Sticky
Squirmy

Some Things We Love About:
Ashley
-Whenever you ask her a question, she will ALWAYS shake her head "no." Karli and I have fun with this while we eat at the table. "Ash, do you love mommy?" noooo. "Ash, do you love Karli?" noooo. "Ash, do you love candy?" noooo. That's when we know it's a lie.
-Her feet are still in a constant state of motion. She does not like to wear socks or shoes.
- She is in a forward facing carseat now, but still feels the need to raise her feet up in the air, or perch them on the sides of her carseat.
-Ashley LOVES food, especially treats. If she even sees a tiny glimpse of a sucker, she WILL freak out. Ashley can out-eat most toddlers, including Karli. This is a typical occurrence at our house. Ash is in the fridge eating grapes...again.
-Reading books is one of her most favorite things to do. Quite often she will be following me around with a book trying to get my attention. She would sit in your lap for hours and read if you kept changing books. She definitely has an opinion about which books she likes best.
-Random strangers still stop and comment about how cute Ashley is. She does pull some pretty weird faces though. See below.
-Ashley has an amazingly strong grip. Good luck to anyone who tries to take away anything she is holding. Here's a shot of her trying to keep hold of her cake. Typical Ashley!
-Ashley can be so cuddly and cute when she wants to be. She can also be downright grumpy and crazy. Luckily we get more cute and cuddly. She just started giving us kisses and still pats us on the back for hugs. To die for really.
-Ashley loves to be outdoors. I think this winter might be rough on her. Anytime the door opens, she tries to dart outside to play, even though it might only be 30 degrees.
-Lucklily, she also enjoys getting her pjs on and cuddling up on the Dora couch.
-I've never seen a child who enjoys music so much. She definitely prefers something with a beat, like R&B or rap, but she'll head bob to anything really. She REALLY enjoyed watching the performances on "The Sing Off" with us. Both her and Karli would get so excited anytime we turned it on. Again, she prefers watching the songs from Hip Hop week. Within the last few weeks she has added standing and waving her hands along with her head and body bobbing. So cute!
-Ashley is turning into a little toddler too fast. I miss my baby! She loves all things girly, just like her sister. She loves brushing her hair, and pretending to put makeup on. She always wants to play dress ups with Karli and her friends. Luckily, she thinks that simply putting something on her head is dressing up. Much easier for me that way. She also loves trying on anyone's shoes and wearing dress up shoes.

We are so grateful for this little girl!
Happy Birthday Ashley!
We love you!
