Virginia Bound

In March, the whole family set off to visit the Mahaffey family! We haven't seen them for 15 long months and we were so excited to stay with them and introduce them to Ashley!

The trip there was unfortunate. I blame these owies on United.
After our layover in Chicago, we were supposed to land in Roanoke, where the Mahaffeys were eagerly waiting our arrival. But, due to cloud coverage, we were diverted to Richmond, where we had to rent a car and drive for 3 hours to get to Buena Vista. It was dark and raining, and we were all pretty exhausted. Our 3:45 PM arrival turned into a 10:30 PM arrival. Karli was so excited when she saw Michelle open her front door that she bolted to go give her a hug. Unfortunately, there were a few cement steps she didn't see, and she went down pretty hard. She was a good sport though and we got her all patched up. Poor thing!

Ashley did great on her first airplane ride! She pretty much slept, played, and slept some more! It was fun to see everyone in the airplane stare at her and tell us how cute she is... it kind of jaded us because now, if someone doesn't say something about our cute baby, we think "Um, hello?! Did you see how cute she is?"

Karli and Ashley got lots of compliments from the flight attendants and surrounding passengers about what good travelers they were. Again, I'm a proud momma!
