Get ready to see some sights!
Ashley & Grandma stayed back at the hotel while the rest of the gang headed out on a sight-seeing tour!
I love tours like these. When Chad and I went on a cruise a few years ago, we totally signed up for the Cozumel sightseeing tour. I thought it sounded great and kind of talked Chad into it. He loves me, so he went. Turns out it was us in a bus full of people who were 60+ years old! We had a great time! We learned a lot, got to see some major highlights, and relaxed. I think retirement will suit us well.
So, fast forward a few years and here we are in Hong Kong on a bus tour! Wahoo!
This time, we had more family to enjoy the tour with.
The first destination was Victoria Peak.
Gorgeous views!
Oh no. Where's my husband?
Oh, there he is!
If you are wondering if I have the above picture on a plate that I can treasure forever: Yes, yes I do. Just ask this guy about that:
And you can call him Big Boss. He'll tell you the whole story.
Our kids are GIANTS!
At Victoria's Peak we got to stop for a toddy. My Dad let us each get a drink and some candy. It reminded me of when we were little and my Dad used to take us to "The Sev" all the time for a drink and some candy. It's fun to see that tradition carried on with the littles. Karli picked out a Gatorade (which she insisted on calling "Alligade") and some skittles. Like mother, like daughter. I think I got some skittles too.
The next stop was at the Sampan boats.
A Sampan is a relatively flat bottomed Chinese wooden boat. Some sampans include a small shelter on board, and may be used as a permanent habitation on inland waters. They are generally used for transportation in coastal areas or rivers, and are often used as traditional fishing boats. It is unusual for a sampan to sail far from land as they do not have the means to survive rough weather. Thanks, Wikipedia.
It was fun to be on the water and see all of the fishermen. Karli's favorite part was waving to them.

Our last stop was Stanley Market!
This market is a typical Chinese hot spot where you can buy lots of cheap stuff. It was fun to look around at all of the merchandise. Can you believe none of us bought a single thing here? My mom would be so disappointed.
But we did get some fun family pictures! She will be proud of that!
They even had a playground where some certain somebodies could get some wiggles out!
We had a great time on the tour, but it wore us out!! We were all SO ready to get some dinner and get in bed! Some things we learned on the tour:
-The location of Jackie Chan's mansion. Sweet.
-Hong Kong's history. Interesting.
-Make sure to take more snacks on the next bus tour.
