Art City Days 2011

We love living in Springville, especially this time of year!

Quite often we'll see something around here and you'll hear us say, "Only in Springville!"

Like the time when we were playing at our neighborhood park and a full-on horse and buggy went riding by, like it was a normal thing.

Or the time when we had to drive 2mph home because we were behind a tractor, and the driver was our stake president.

Or the time when we saw four little boys riding four wheelers around the neighborhood.

Or, one of our personal favorites, the time when Karli's nursery teacher brought in a kangaroo to show the kids. So crazy! But the craziest part was when we asked her teacher how she did with the kangaroo, she replied, "Better than with some of the other animals we've had in here!"
OTHER ANIMALS!?!?

...only in Springville!

Last week marked the Springville City Annual Art City Days, and our schedules were full of fun.

On Monday, we went to Teddy Bear Tea at the Library. It's like story time, but the kids get to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the show and then venture outside where they have all kinds of crafts, games, and goodies for the kids.
Karli, Jackson, and Brighton had some fun.
Brighton brought her puppy, Jackson brought his kitty, Karli brought her Mini Mouse and Ashley brought her bunny.

On Friday, we went to the Children's Arts & Crafts Fair where the girls got their faces painted!

On Saturday morning, we woke up at 6:00 and went to see the hot air balloons! What a cool sight to see!

Karli's personal favorite:

A classic pointing picture for Great Grandpa Smith:
After some quick naps, we went to the Grand Parade where we met our friends and ate some donuts!

While Karli played with Jackson, Kylee, and Zuri...

Ashley played with her buddy, Tyson.
Karli loved seeing the fireman, cheerleaders, and horses.

But our personal favorite was when our friend, Stew, persuaded the kids into making some sort of "parade barricade" so the infringing older kids couldn't get in front of them to steal their candy. Thanks to Stew, we did come home with some yummy candy.

can't wait for next year!
